What Is Ovulation Test Kit?

Ovulation test kit (OPK) is a kit to test when an ovulation is  occur.  It is very easy to use and you can do it at home. The kit works by detecting the luteinizing hormone (LH) in your urine, which produces an obvious purple line after dipping the stick in collected urine. The purple line on the kit strip only produced during your most fertile period (ovulation phase), which indicating  the release of ovum (female egg) from your ovary.  Absence of double lines indicating you are not ovulating.

The OPK kit works just like pregnancy test. Unlike the pregnancy kit which detecting human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)  hormone, the OPK kit detecting the presence of LH hormone after dipping in the collected urine. 

The double line result from OPK kit tells you when is the best time to do sexual intercourse. It lets you to know when is your most fertile period and understand your ovulation pattern. To increase your chance to get pregnant, you should perform sexual intercourse for several days after ovulation.
